LIMScan is a native iOS application available free of charge in the Apple Appstore.
The app is an example of how existing resources can be used for the purposes of the LIMS. Nowadays the camera of an existing smartphone is usually much better than that of most barcode scanners. Smartphones also offer a familiar user interface.
Try the app out. Even without an OGI-IT LIMS, you can use the app to recognize and display the content of many different barcodes.
